Thanks to the support of two fellow club members, I was able to receive a Sun SPARCstation SLC in Hanover on Saturday.

While Apple launched the Macintosh Classic in 1990... with a maximum of 4 MB RAM, a 9" monochrome monitor, and still the same resolution of 512x342 pixels, Sun came onto the market with an "integrated" computer that was a little different :).
It had a 20MHz RISC processor with 1.2 MFLOPS, a maximum of 16 MB RAM - and a monitor that you could work with in good conscience: a 17-inch display with a resolution of 1152x900 pixels.
The downside, unfortunately, was the price - the dealer's purchase price in December 1990 was a cool 10,990 DM... but for that, you at least got 8MB RAM :p
Unfortunately, the SLC has suffered a bit over the years; the plastic, especially above the display near the ventilation ribs, is quite fragile - and the monitor itself shows a not very convincing picture.
So, a complete restoration is in order here, including the HV (high voltage) issues of the monitor. Nevertheless, here are a few pictures for now.
